The title of this post describes the burnt ends sandwich, pictured above, that can be found at L C’s Bar-B-Q in Kansas City, Missouri. Crispy, drippy, and luscious can also describe this impossibly overstuffed “sandwich” and you’d be hard-pressed to find burnt ends any better in Kansas City. Jane and Michael Stern tell Lynne Rossetto Kasper that L C’s is ready to take its place alongside the other Kansas City greats in the pantheon of definitive KC barbecue. Where do they tell her this? Why, on The Splendid Table, Lynne’s savory weekend radio show, of course! If you can’t tune in this weekend, you can listen online.
Check out the Roadfood.com reviews of L C’s here.

The Portland, Oregon seafoodery and bar known as Halibut’s is the subject of discussion for Jane and Michael Stern’s visit this weekend with Lynne Rossetto Kasper, on her public radio show The Splendid Table. Fish-frowner Jane actually likes the halibut-and-chips. Michael is especially fond of the unusual salmon-and-chips, made with super-fresh Copper River salmon. And, yes, the salmon is fried. If you miss the show on radio, you can listen online.

Jane and Michael Stern appear on this weekend's episode of Lynne Rossetto Kasper's radio feast known as
The Splendid Table, where they praise the baked goods, from raisin pecan loaves to sticky, nutted morning buns (pictured above, from
their Roadfood.com review), available at the pleasingly unadorably named Standard Baking Company in Portland, Maine. If you can't catch the show on an actual radio,
listen online.

Many eateries make the claim that their cinnamon rolls are the best and biggest. Jane and Michael Stern tell Lynne Rossetto Kasper, on this weekend's The Splendid Table, that the one served at Johnson's Corner, a truckstop in Loveland, CO, may well really be the best and biggest cinnamon roll in the land! If you can't listen to the show on radio, you can hear it online.
See Michael Stern's Roadfood.com review of Johnson's Corner here.

This weekend on The Splendid Table, Jane and Michael Stern discuss, with host Lynne Rossetto Kasper, the incomparably luscious, smoky, fat-laced brisket to be found at Louie Mueller’s BBQ in Taylor, Texas. You can hear the show on public radio; if that’s not possible, you can also listen online.
The photo above is from the Roadfood.com review of Louie Mueller’s. Michael Stern says, “Just contemplate this beef. There is none better anywhere.” We totally agree; Louie Mueller’s would make our all-time top-ten Roadfood list.

A Squeeze Inn burger comes dressed in a skirt, providing a crusty, crispy, chewy, cheesy chaw to nibble through as you channel your way to the one-third pound burger at the epicenter. Jane and Michael Stern tell Lynne Rossetto Kasper all about it to open this weekend’s episode of The Splendid Table on public radio. If you can’t catch the show this weekend you can hear it online.
That’s Erika & Jon’s photo of a Squeezeburger, from their Roadfood.com review.
