Tekoa (pronounced tee’-ko), a small eastern Washington town, is holding their annual Slippery Gulch Days celebration this Friday and Saturday. In keeping with tradition, the festival will open with the Jaycee Club dance Friday night, and continues Saturday with events all day. Food features include the Chamber of Commerce breakfast Saturday, which includes German sausage and cinnamon rolls, and Dan Hutton will be serving up BBQ sandwiches. The egg toss, parade, the art deco Empire Theatre show (this year, a Beatles tribute band), and fireworks are always festival favorites. For more info see the festival website.
