Fanny-cinn-toast

Adjoining the Acme Bread Bakery is Alice Waters' Cafe Fanny, a charming little ultra-casual eatery with a small menu of breads and eggs, espresso, and lattes served in broad bowls. The eggs are swell -- you can get them beautifully soft-boiled -- but my downfall is the cinnamon raisin toast, which technically is not toasted. It is butter-grilled. Can you say mmmm-mmmm-good? Also not to be missed are Cafe Fanny beignets, served two at a time and so lightweight they seem almost to evaporate on the tongue. Like the toast, they come with the Fanny-made preserve du jour, on this day marmalade.

The food looks really good, but where is this?
