Sit-Stay-Henry

If you and your dog are in the East Bay and your dog is dirty and you are hungry, here's an all-in-one solution: Mud Puppy's Tub & Scrub and Sit and Stay Cafe, located in Richmond at Point Isabel (phone: 510-559-8899). It is a dog wash that is either full service or do-it-yourself as well as a pleasant outdoor cafe serving coffee and espresso drinks and pastries starting at 8am and such snack/lunches as chili, nachos, hot dogs, and soup. Adjoining the cafe and dog wash is a large park where dogs are welcome to roam and play off leash as well as go for a dunk in the Bay, providing they are under voice control. Henry, pictured above, is a 7-month old chocolate lab belonging to my sister who just barely qualifies in the voice-control department, and had a jolly time cavorting with his older friend Derby and countless other canines he met in the park.
