What’s summer without a big plate of fried smelt?  Yachats, Oregon puts on their annual smelt shindig this Saturday.  $10 gets you all the smelt you can eat!  The Fry is held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Yachats Commons.  See the Yachats website for more info.

I have yet to have a summer with a big plate of fried smelt -- obviously I'm missing out on this!
