The 2008 presidential election just got more complicated: now L.A. Burdick, of Walpole, NH asks you to choose between the Obama chocolate assortment and the McCain chocolate assortment. Available until election day, each half- or quarter-pound box is stamped with a donkey or elephant wax seal and tied with a blue or red ribbon. The differences are more than box deep. The chocolates have been designed to celebrate the unique background of each candidate. Some of the Obama flavors include Hawaiian-Pineapple and Kenyan Coffee. McCain flavors include Arizona Citrus and Hot Pepper Tequila. The small boxes are $15, the large will run you $28.
Pictured above, from Michael Stern’s Roadfood.com review, are boxes of L.A. Burdick’s signature chocolate mice, about which Michael says, “As soon as I sunk my teeth into the dark chocolate ganache of this cute little cocoa creature, I knew that I was in candy heaven.”
