Can You Beat 9 Charlie Boys in 10 Minutes?

If you think you can, you may want to consider entering next year's Charlie Boy eating contest run by Miles Inn of Sioux City, Iowa (home of, what else, the Charlie Boy!).  At least we hope there will be a contest next year; this year's was the first one.  The contest was held yesterday (Saturday), and the 11 contestants had 10 minutes to eat their fill.  The winner consumed nine.  What'd he win?  $175 and prizes.  Read the story on the KPTH website.

Michael Stern, in his Roadfood.com review of Miles Inn, describes a Charlie Boy: "A close view of Miles Inn's Charlie Boy sandwich reveals all the necessary ingredients: seasoned meat, pickle, American cheese, a few flecks of onion and a hint of mustard."

They aren't that big of a sandwich, I'm a little surprised someone didn't eat more than 9. Maybe I need to take a trip to Sioux City and do some prelim work for next years contest.

I think I probably could eat nine Charlie Boys, but certainly not in 10 minutes. Very impressive! Those are clearly the best loosemeat sandwiches I've ever had.
