When Lesley Chesterman and her sister lived on the Plateau in Montreal, they devised a culinary walk to showcase the neighborhood to visitors.  She retraces this food tour in a story in the Montreal Gazette.  We will definitely print this out for our next visit to the city; the itinerary looks amazing!  Here’s a quick listing (see the story for details):

Soup at Soup Soup; natas tartlet at Stella Estrela; lunch at Reservoir; steak, herring, or latkes at Moishes (Roadfood.com review); a smoked meat sandwich (pictured above from the Roadfood.com review) at Schwartz’s; cheese, deli, coffee, and chocolate bars at La Vieille Europe; smoked pork chops and choucroute at Boucherie Slovenia; Café Melies; espresso or sangria at Café Cherrier; bonbons and brownies at Les Chocolats de Chloé; iced tea and a BLT from Le Brûlerie St. Denis; and chocolate sorbet at Suite 88 Chocolatier.  If you can do all that in a day, you deserve some kind of an award.
