Apple Pie in a Bag on Food Network

If you are a Roadfood.com regular, you’re probably aware that Michael Stern is a huge fan of the apple pies baked in a bag at Elegant Farmer in Mukwonago, Wisconsin (photos above and below).  In his review, he says that he and Jane “cannot remember an apple pie we’ve eaten anywhere that was so delicious.”

Taste Buds, a food blog on the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel website, reports that the Food Network will be filming at Elegant Farmer next Tuesday (9/23/08), for their November 20th holiday special.  They are/were looking for about 75 extras to roam around the place while they shoot.  If they’re still looking, and you are interested, you can email Jeanne Bernard at jeanne@orderup.tv.

Taste Buds also notes that Elegant Farmer is featured in Paula Deen’s Holiday Baking, on newsstands right now.  Ms. Deen says the pie “has a taste that will make your grandma blush!”
